How To Get The Attention Of Your Perfect Client

Are you ignoring your perfect customers without even realizing it?
Sounds like a weird question, I know. But it’s really not. Because I was doing this exact thing for years. And I see it happening all around me still.
Plenty of businesses have grown by leaps and bounds after they figured out how to fix this error, so let’s get into it.
The Overlooked Element in 95% of Businesses
We can't sell to everyone, because not everyone needs our services. But we must reach the people who are perfect for our service.
The easiest way to reach them is… through a headline.
This is a vital part of any advertisement, any website, and even any conversation.
The first words at a meeting are a headline. The clothes you wear to an interview are a headline.
If you go to that interview in a dirty white t-shirt instead of a shirt… you're probably already dead.
You might be the best candidate, but it doesn’t matter anymore, does it?
You've lost from the start.
That’s why it’s so important, so let me tell you what NOT to do.
The Biggest Mistake…
The worst way to capture someone's attention is by saying something banal or boring.
I was once asked to look at an advertisement that had been running for 4 months.
Their headline was “Ready for a buck...”.
I saw it and asked, “I don’t understand, what is this supposed to mean?”
“You know, if you read the entire ad, you’ll understand. It’s really clever, it circles back and then it completes itself and creates a joke…” he replied.
I leaned back and said:
“It’s really interesting, but that will never happen, I read it, I didn't get it, I move on.”
No one is holding a gun to my head reading ads, I see it... done.
You have a fraction of a second to make an impression or…
you won’t reach anyone.
That’s why the beginning of your ad is so important. Or your website. Or your phone script. Or your video.
"Ok... If a headline is so important, then how can I always create good ones?"
The Only Needed Formula For Creating Great Headlines
Here’s a test for your headline.
If you were to advertise just your headline and then put an email or a phone number along with it, maybe a "click here".
Just the headline and the response mechanism, nothing else.
If you did that, would it trigger someone, would someone pick up the phone and call?
The headline must spark their interest, making them say:
"This is for me. This person understands exactly what I’m dealing with."
If we take the earlier headline “Ready, for a buck...”, no one would call, because it's not in their interest and it's impossible to understand.
Let me give you examples of some great headlines I’ve used in the past:
"How to Easily Get More Clients Without Increasing Your Advertising Budget"
"The Simplest Way to Sell to People… Without Needing to Sell to Them"
Anyone who is struggling with overspending on marketing or selling to customers would click on that.
It’s an enticing offer.
So, let’s give up the bland, insipid, and nondescript headlines.
Make them feel special, like the ad was personally made for them, not for everyone.
This not only captures the attention of your perfect client but also filters out all the others.
This brings you the people you enjoy working with the most, the people who will come back for a second... third time.
Remember:
Not everyone needs your product or service.
If you try to appeal to everyone, you'll end up appealing to no one.
Don't be afraid to stand out. In today's world, this is the only way to reach customers.
